Default Safety checks that should be made before using portable electrical equipment at work.

The following steps should be taken before turning on the current:

1. Check that the machine has three core wiring unless it is of double insulated design.

2. Check that the “earth” (green/yellow) wire is connected to the earth pin of the plug and that sufficient slack is allowed to ensure that, should the wires be pulled from the plug, the earth wire will be the last to be disconnected from its pin.

3. Check that the earth wire makes full contact with the metal body of the tool. (This advice on earth wiring does not apply to double insulated appliances because these do not have an earth wire.)

4. Check that the “line” or live (brown) wire is connected to the correct terminal in the plug. This will ensure that the electric current goes directly to the operating switch.

The following rhyme may serve to help remember the colours: Brown is live,
Blue is not,
Green and yellow,
Earth the lot

5. Even though the tool may be of double insulated design, it is good safety practice to
ensure that the electricity supply incorporates earth leakage protection.

Indeed, it's very important to take note of these important points when working with electrical equipment. I will direct my friends to this forum, those who work in the electrical field. They will get so many information here, specially for their safety.
